Amazon.com Review Amazon.com Review Like its smaller cousins, the Roku M1000 and M500 network music players, Roku's SoundBridge Radio is designed liberate your digital music from your computer and let you crank up Internet radio stations and your unprotected digital music files in the room of your choice. But unlike those products, the SoundBridge Radio doesn't require a hi-fi system because the SoundBridge Radio is the hi-fi system. And not a bad one at that. A clean design and several easy-access-ports give the SoundBridge added versatility. View larger. Most of the radio's ground-breaking Wi-Fi features can be accessed via the convenient remote. View larger. Featuring two linear magnetic drive full-range speakers and a linear magnetic drive subwoofer -- each powered by built-in amplifiers -- the SoundBridge puts most table-top radios to shame. If you have a lot of space to fill with your music, you'll want to think twice before replacing your stereo system with it. But for a unit this size, the SoundBridge offers excellent sound performance, and its many ground-breaking Wi-Fi features make it worth the price. As a complete Wi-Fi music system that can stream your MP3, WMA, AAC, WAV, and AIFF music files in high-performance sound; play AM, FM and Internet radio; automatically update the time via atomic transmission; and wake you up to a variety of ascending alarm sounds or your favorite Internet station or digital music, the SoundBridge has clear aspirations to be your bedside radio of choice. Without needing any special software for your computer (PC or Mac), within a few minutes of breaking this five-pound radio out of its packaging you can be browsing through the music you have stored in your Apple's iTunes, Real Networks' Rhapsody, Windows Media Connect or Windows Media 10 music players. All you need is a wireless network with a broadband connection, and your digital music is yours for the asking. (However, because Apple doesn't license its digital rights management code, SoundBridge -- like most other non-Apple network media players -- can't play protected songs from the iTunes Music Store.) In our test we set up an iMac G5 on our network running Apple's iTunes. The radio, which is configured with Wi-Fi 802.11b but is 802.11g compatible, immediately recognized the network but took several tries before it successfully connected. (If your network is locked, the SoundBridge will ask for a password. And if you have access to more than one wireless network, the SoundBridge will give you the option of choosing which network to connect to.) Once online, the radio automatically updated the Roku software and was officially ready to perform. And for the remainder of our test over several days, we never once had another connection problem. Diving straight into our iTunes folders, it didn't take long for us to recognize the several play features that put the SoundBridge head and shoulders above many of its competitors. For starters, unlike other network players we've tested, the radio recognized our iTunes playlists, and a neat "song queue" feature let us easily create our own playlists with the radio's remote. And as a huge brownie point, the SoundBridge not only categorized our songs by genre, title, artist and album (as most networks players do), it also queued up each song in the same order as they were originally placed their respective albums. Astoundingly, not all Wi-Fi players can make that claim. Large, easy-to-access buttons -- including a huge snooze bar -- on the top of the radio make the SoundBridge an excellent clock radio option. View larger. On the Internet radio front, SoundBridge doesn't come out quite so well. While Roku's marketing material claims "10,000 stations -- No strings attached," that wasn't exactly our experience. The radio is pre-configured with dozens of Internet stations -- all of which can be accessed without the computer powered on -- and the radio has 18 pre-sets that offer quick access to the station of your choice. But to access the rest of the world's Internet radio stations, you have to go through several somewhat tedious steps with Roku's Web interface to configure them. The strongest criticism of SoundBridge concerns its remote capabilities and navigation. The features of the SoundBridge are designed to be accessed both through the large, easy-to-access buttons on the radio itself, and via its basic 5.5 x 2-inch remote. Unfortunately, the remote works for some features, but not for others, and less-than-intuitive navigation makes things unnecessarily complicated. The most glaring example of this problem is with the SoundBridge's highly convenient "source" button located behind the radio's conveniently huge snooze button. You hit the source button until you reach -- you guessed it! -- the music source of your choice. If you want AM radio, you tap the button until "AM Radio" appears on the radio's display. Pretty simple, and just how it should be. However, if you are using the remote you must hit the "home" button, which then leads you to a navigation level that's dependent upon the level you're starting at. If you're listening to AM radio, for example, and you want Internet Radio, the remote requires that you click several times through two additional navigation levels to make the switch. And there are other similar problems with the remote configuration and navigation. Call us spoiled, but this can be a drag. Is it a deal breaker? Not by a long shot. The SoundBridge Radio is the first dedicated Wi-Fi radio that has the ability to serve your digital music collection, and it does it with a performance and convenience that should please most listeners. But at this price, and with thousands of examples of well-designed remote appliances to draw from, we would have liked these issues not to have been issues. Pros: Wirelessly delivers digital music and Internet radio from your PC or Mac Linear magnetic speakers and woofers offer excellent sound performance Alarm clock functions feature large, easy-to-access buttons and several alarm options, including Internet radio and digital music wake-up Cons: Poorly integrated remote control and difficult navigation Internet radio stations somewhat difficult to configure Amazon.com Product Description The wireless R1000 SoundBridge radio system combines the convenience of a high-quality tabletop radio with the versatility of a digital music device, giving listeners the best of both worlds. The R1000 doesn't actually store song files itself. Rather, it communicates with your Mac or PC over your home's WiFi network and accesses all your saved WMA, AAC, MP3, WAV, or AIFF files. Once the files are retrieved, the R1000 plays them over its pair of built-in stereo speakers and subwoofer, which deliver unsurpassed audio quality. As a result, you can listen to any of your digital tunes or podcasts on the R1000 regardless of whether your computer is located upstairs, down the hall, or in the basement. The R1000's top panel includes a snooze/sleep button, several radio presets, and scan up/down buttons. Take a closer look. The R1000 is compatible with a variety of Mac and PC digital music players, including iTunes, MusicMatch, Windows Media Connect, Windows Media Player 10, Rhapsody, Windows Media DRM 10, and more. It also stands ready to play free Internet radio stations, and doesn't require a computer to do so. All you need is broadband access and a WiFi home network and the R1000 takes care of the rest, giving you one-touch access to any available jazz, talk, rock, or pop station. And should you want to take the R1000 to a friend's house or elsewhere, you can simply store your favorite music files on an SD/MMC card and plug it into the available slot for offline playback. Other features include a built-in subwoofer, an SD/MMC card slot, and a headphone jack. Take a closer look. Your digital files are easy to navigate thanks to the bright 280 x 32 vacuum fluorescent display (VFD) and the handy remote control, which lets you browse and select music from across the room. The radio also offers Roku's Fast Browse feature, which browses by album, artist, genre, or composer (providing your files are properly encoded with said details). And those who prefer traditional browsing can simply use the top preset, scan, and source select buttons located on top of the radio. The unit's superior audio quality stems from the precision-engineered sound system and the patented Linear Magnetic Drive stereo speakers and subwoofer. Each full-range speaker is outfitted with its own tuned acoustic enclosure and built-in 20-watt 3G digital amplifier, while the sub offers a proprietary Delta Tunnel-tuned acoustic enclosure and a 30-watt 3G amp. Together, the speakers deliver a full-bodied audio performance that far surpasses most tabletop radios, all in a package that's only 11 by 6 by 6.5 inches (W x H x D). In addition, Roku has outfitted the SoundBridge with a super-fast, 400 MHz Blackfin DSP processor and 16 MB of DRAM memory, giving it more than enough headroom to handle future software updates. Other features include a traditional AM/FM tuner; a full-function clock radio (tuned to the U.S. atomic clock) that wakes to digital music, Internet radio, AM/FM stations, iTunes playlists, podcasts, or selectable alarm tones; a gradual volume ramp mode for listeners who like to wake up slowly; a headphone jack for private listening; and a built-in light sensor that automatically dims the display in the evening. The R1000 system weighs 4 pounds and 15 ounces and is backed by a one-year warranty on parts and labor. What's in the Box R1000 SoundBridge radio system, remote control, two AAA batteries, power cable, external AM antenna, external FM antenna, user's manual.

If you love radio, you will find it hard not to love the SoundBridge Radio By dissimulo Update: After two years, my SoundBridge radio began to die with a constant crackling of static, regardless of volume setting. Apparently, I am not the only customer to experience this problem, but the warranty coverage is one year, regardless. That is a disappointment, because this product is not cheap. I know that things break, but when a problem is common, it is a design flaw and I hope for manufacturers to take better care of their customers. So, I am not changing my rating - it was a great product while it lasted - but two years of life from a $300 product is not good enough for me to buy another, even at the low, low RMA price of $200. Original review: I have wished for a radio that could play Internet radio stations ever since stations began to stream on-line. Sure, I can use my computer, but I hate to leave the noisy, power-sucking thing on 24 hours a day. Over the last couple years, a few devices have popped up that could play Internet radio, but that lacked the ability to tune in regular AM and FM radio. At long last, the SoundBridge Radio has arrived with the ability to play both Internet and regular radio. The SoundBridge is great. It is the best thing of any kind that I have purchased in several years. That said, it is not perfect. Internet Radio The SoundBridge delivers Internet radio every bit as well as a computer. Once you have your favorite stations programmed in, it is easy to switch between them - just press the preset button and you're streaming. The downside is that it is a bit laborious to enter those stations. To add new stations to the presets, you need to log in to the web interface of the radio, using your web browser. No big deal if you are computer savvy, but it would be nice if there were a way to program the presets from the radio itself. AM/FM Radio The SoundBridge closed the deal with me just by offering regular AM and FM radio in addition to Internet radio. This was a feature I required and SoundBridge Radio delivers. However, that is as much praise as I will give it for the standard radio features. There are several annoyances. You cannot scan stations manually. To select a station, you must select it from a list. A tuning dial would be much, much more useful. The reception is poor. This is probably due to the internal AC power supply. Don't expect to pick up weak, remote stations with the SoundBridge. The radio does provide AM and FM antenna ports, so you can improve on the poor reception by adding a quality antenna. Radio Controls There are four ways to control the radio - the physical controls, the remote control, the web interface, and the command line interface. This provides a great degree of flexibility if you are willing to learn them all. It could also be confusing. The biggest problem with the SoundBridge Radio is that each of these four control sets works differently and does not allow you to control the full set of features. If I had designed the SoundBridge Radio, I would have made sure you could manipulate every feature from every interface. Sadly, this is not the case. The physical radio controls allow you to do almost everything you will need to do once the wireless network is set up and your presets are programmed. However, you need to use the remote control for setup. The web interface allows only very basic control of the radio, but is necessary for manipulating presets. You can program the presets for Internet radio stations simply by pasting in the URL. The command line interface can be accessed by Telnet. I have only done basic tinkering, but it appears you can control most of the radio functions from the command line. You can also do interesting things, such as rewriting the radio display. Sound The sound is fine. You're listening to the radio - how good do you expect it to be? Voices are clear and well

Misal Great product from Sony, I have had it for about 2 weeks now, I have played it every day made it go through some rigorous tests. Works perfect, I did a compare with Bose 321GSX and found this to be a lot better for half the price!. Excellent surround sound effect, IPOD dock works great, rear wireless speakers are amazing, even though Sony says not to keep the unit under the shelf, it still works great and the rear wireless work perfectly. Easy setup, and looks great, I even hid the subwoofer behind the TV and did the auto calibration..sounds great. I'd recommend a 100% buy. 52 of 53 people found the following review helpful. Plenty of features for a HTIB By HP This system is awesome. I've had it for about a month now and watched a few movies with it. I'm not an audiophile and this is my first surround sound system for my primary living room theater. I picked this system mainly because of the tower speakers and the S-AIR module. It's a all in one system with a blue ray disk player that supports about 5 different digital audio codecs. It's a clean minimalist design. I was surprised by the depth of the receiver. It's bigger than I expected and fills the majority of shelf space in my entertainment stand. One thing that bugged me are the the buttons on the top front edge of the receiver. They are small, the same shape and color which force you to read the label to tell what they are. This makes it even more irritating because the remote doesn't have an eject button and I had to learn which of those tiny buttons would eject my disk. I guess I'm really lazy. Assembly took all but 15 minutes. It took more time to arrange the pieces around the room. There's a quick setup guide that will calibrate your system with an included microphone. One thing to be aware of, as with most HTIB, there are no video inputs. What this means, is that you'll need to connect all your video sources directly to the TV or a HDMI switch. However, there are mutliple audio inputs. So for example, if you wanted to connect your XBOX 360 to this unit, you'll have to connect your HDMI to your tv and then use an optical cable to route the audio to the receiver. Or you could use the optical out from your TV. This is not ideal, in my opinion, but then again that was not a goal for me. The sound is crisp, and clean. The sub-woofer gives strong enough punch that you can feel in your chest. Blue ray disks load quicker than my LG blue ray player. I'm very happy with my purchase. This was the right unit for me and I would recommend this unit to anyone else looking for an all in one system. 26 of 27 people found the following review helpful. Great sound By P. Ford This system has everything we wanted all in one box. We have it hooked up to a Samsung 52" LCD tv. It was a quick setup and we love the effects of the sound. The blueray player is excellent. Movies are clear as a bell. It's great that we don't have cords running to the back of the room. Overall, we couldn't be happier with our purchase. See all 50 customer reviews...

A friend of mine who manages an high-end audio store and familiar with both the B&W and Yamaha lines suggested I look at the Yamaha 4100 specifically. It had more features and was almost $700 less. I took his suggestion and have been extremely happy with the YSP-4100. After upgrading the 4100's firmware to the latest version 7.0.3, 3D HDMI pass thru from my Samsung 3D Blu-Ray to Samsung 3D TV also worked properly. 9 of 10 people found the following review helpful. Amazing sound from one device. By Seven of Nine, Tertiary Adjunct of Unimatrix 01 I got a 42" LG5400 for our room. With three kids the husband wanted to be able to sneak away and watch the game while the kids watch cartoons. Somehow being stuck with the small (black and white) college TV set seemed unfair. When it finally broke we upgraded. Instead of buying speakers I looked at a soundbar. I wanted to have great sound without worring about the wires or the kids moving or grabing speakers placed around the room. My friend is an audiophile and he had the 4100 then upgraded to the 5100. He told me the sound difference was minute I went over and tried out his system. I liked it and my 4100 sounds the same. The difference is the 5100 has two 1" balanced-dome tweeters and the cost (approx 300); perhaps there are audiophiles with ears educated enough to tell the difference ... I'm sure they would love to pay $300.00 for any subtle improvements. My friend who also installs systems also helped me install the TV, DVD, Cable box and soundbar. The soundbar is also a receiver so the TV, DVD and Cable box are connected through the 4100. We (my friend with me as assistant) updated the Bios, installed the bracket, mounted the bar and calibrated the sound. The sound is perfect in the room no matter where you are but you can barely hear it in the hall even with the door open. So we can watch TV in our room when the kids are sleeping. I had an electrical outlet put in the wall behind the TV and the wires were run behind the wall so no tangled wires and no wires visible to tempt the children. Plus my husband can now watch the game (football, basketball or baseball) when the kids take over the TV in the family room. I would buy this unit again in a heartbeat. 1 of 1 people found the following review helpful. What a deal on Sound By meinster I just received the YSP 4100 from our dealer (had to order it in) it was installed on our new home theater room and the set up was incredibly easy. Upgrade the firmware. Plug it in, put in the YPAO microphone, press set up and walk out of the room. The sound bar did the rest. I have a full 7.1 Yamaha sound system in my game room and honestly, If YOU can tell a difference in sound quality, you are simply too picky. The sound bar is perfect for a home theatre room without all the cables (that was the one thing my wife insisted on, NO CABLES!!. The sound is crystal clear and the 3d pass-through does not degrade the picture on our Panasonic 60 inch ST30. The only recommendation that I would suggest, is to add the optional subwoofer, it really adds to the depth of the sound. See all 3 customer reviews...

If you know anything about car stereos, this REAL wattage is the only thing that matters, not what the amp manufacturers claim wattage to be. This amp doesnt get hot, and is a serious performer for the money. Class D means it is extremely efficient, and its a mono subwoofer amplifier. For those of you with small 4 cylinder engines and small alternators, yes your headlights will dim no matter what amp you put in there. Get a capacitor if you have a 4 cylinder motor. I have an S10 with a 4.3L V6, stock alternator rated at 110 Amps, and my headlights do not dim. I dont have a capacitor. This amp slams whatever is connected to it. For the money, you can not beat this amp. 11 of 11 people found the following review helpful. Powerful Amp A+ By Michael Sellers I have this amp paired with an Alpine R12 (4 ohm), and it is amazing. With the gain over 3/4, it is TOO POWERFUL for any kind of conversation in my 08 Civic. I also bought a 1 Farad capacitor, because my headlights were dimming. This amp has not cut out once, even in near 100 degree heat and bumpin'. I recommend this amp because of it's flawless performance, light price, active cooling, and heavy hitting power. I am very impressed with this amp. 4 of 4 people found the following review helpful. Super Amazing! By a4455johndeere I have 2 12in. Kicker CVX's with 2 ohm DVCs and I have a KAC-9103D but that amp wasn't enough for the 2 subs, so I got this one so the amps were similar. All I can say is "HOLY CRAP!" This amp is definitly powerful. With both subs, I have talked to my friends after I have sat behind them at a red light and they said that I'm rattlin' their car too. Really I can't really describe the power of the amp unless you experience it but again, all I can say is "HOLY CRAP!" See all 27 customer reviews...

I hate clutter and went for it as this would be a single unit for Music, DVD/BluRay and Internet streaming (Netflix etc). Blu-Ray discs with 3-D surround sound are really amazing as I expected, DVD up conversion is great and sound quality of wireless S-AIR rear speaker is as good as wired (beware, they are wireless just with respect to main base/amp unit. The rear speakers have their own receiver unit that requires power plug and is wired to rear speakers. However, it serves my purpose as I don't need to run wires across my living room.). I was apprehensive that I am paying $100 extra and probably compromising on the sound quality just for little compromise of running wires across room. I did not find any compromise on sound quality (and I am quite picky). I did separate my WiFi router away from S-AIR, after reading about the possible cross-interference. That created another logistics problem: I sometimes watch movies on Netflix streamed through Internet and for best quality like to hook up the wire. Keeping router away meant that I ended up running cable across. Netflix streaming quality was awesome with wire and as good I had observed with PS3 (It's just a shade worse than DVD but way better than connecting via computer). The surprise was that WiFi connection worked almost as well as wired. So I ended up getting rid of this wire too. I have Sharp Aquos 52' LED TV and it seamlessly detects sound from this Sony unit whenever I switch to TV or switch on TV. One more tip that I discovered by chance. I have cheap $2, 6 ft generic HDMI cable and ~$10 mediabridge 6 ft and 15 ft (to connect my laptop to use TV as external monitor). While DVD and Blu-Ray disc quality was same on all 3 cables, Netflix streaming quality was way better with 6 ft mediabridge cable than other two. Probably one needs to buy decent quality shortest cable for limited signal/information relay via streaming. And don't believe in the crap that is floating on Internet. I know digital is 0 and 1. However, those morons forget that it's not just one 0 and 1; there is a stream of millions of 0s and 1s getting across. So it matters how many of those are faithfully transmitted. If input is great it does not matter, even crappiest of cable would do. However, if input is limiting, it does seem to make a difference. I did blind test with monstrously overpriced Monster cables and did not find any improvement over Mediabridge; so just the shortest and decent ones would do. I read one user complaining about lack of headphone jack on the system in reviews somewhere. IT EXISTS. Sony actually did one better. It put it on one of the rear speakers so that it's close to your couch. They just did a poor job of highlighting it. Not so detail oriented people might start crying it does not exist after not finding it on the main unit. Finally, I played tons of music from my iPhone using 3.5 mm to RCA connection (this unit can also play iPod/Phone via USB cable; I just had a very good quality 3.5 mm to RCA with me) and quality was good. It also has Pandora and other links that are suppose to become functional in next update. I tried Pandora via iPhone and it was great. I really can't see any problems with the system. Bottom-line: It may not be the system for extreme music lovers who want to push sound quality to ultimate purity and can hear notes that pass through 99% of the people. It is indeed a very good composite unit to hook up with your TV (for improved sound) and watch movies on BluRay/DVD/Netflix and avoid clutter of equipments without compromising on the quality of either of the individual functions. I am not into gaming but Sony should come up with PS3-BluRay-home theater combo too. If I have to find fault, my only disappointment is the unfriendly user manual, hard to navigate Sony website

I just wanted a little bump, nothing wild. This thing is nice and compact, and gets the job done. On one 12" sub it has plenty of power to make the music sound good, and if you need it to be louder, it can be. I'd recommend this if you are looking for better sounding music, and not just to make the people down the street hear you. My only complaint is the power/ground wire terminals. I had 4 gauge wire from my old amp, but these are standard speaker wire terminals set up hold smaller 6 (or 8, I'm not sure) wire. I had to do some jerry rigging to get the 4 gauge to work. I would have liked terminals that were just large holes with a set screw to tighten in to the wire. 1 of 1 people found the following review helpful. Very good for it's size!!! By RC I bought this amp and have it hooked up to a 2010 Kicker CompVR 12" 2ohm DVC sub, in a 2002 Z71 extended cab. Speaker is wired to 4 ohm load. I know this doesn't get all of the power out of the amp and from the way it sounds I don't need any more power. I'm not a young buck running around town with the windows down trying to blow anybody out, but I do like to turn it up from time to time and feel like a kid again! This amp is a great amp for someone looking for a low price on a good amp. You won't regret it! 0 of 0 people found the following review helpful. Just what I wanted By youngdre23 I bought this amp back in November of 2010. I haven't had a problem with it yet. This thing is great. I'm powering this amp to a Alpine Type E. It sounds amazing. It would not carry a signal 50 feet through my vinyl sided 1/2 inch sheathed split level. I called Lorex and they wanted to send me a new system right away. In the mean time, I looked over their website snd found this. I decided to try this system since Lorex was so suportive. It is even less expensive than the LW2702. Four cameras, a 32 bit card and software that sends email alerts and a snapshot; plus you can access the system on the internet via a ddns net run by Lorex. THIS seemed to solve every concern I had; I did not just want to discourage and record, I wanted a system that would email us while we were on vacation and that we could use to call the police. I decided to put 3 cameras in the house in logical traffic areas. These will be set to alert us. The fourth will go outside to capture vehicle traffic in the drive. The software allows each camera to be programmed seperately; alert types, when to record, etc. You can also set up schedules for each camera alert and monitor function; for example, basement shop every night between midnight and 5 AM; bedroom hallway every workday from 8AM to 3PM; and all inside cameras for the two week vacation while leaving the driveway camera always set to record activity without sending alerts. Pretty powerful stuff. You neeed to precisely follow the instructions for setting up internet access which allows you full control of your monitoring system. It took a day for the internet to register my system domain; but it works. OK, the mediocre. Although Server 2000 is supported, it will not run on windows home server. Or, it must be installed on any 32 bit winXP or higher system. IT CANNOT run on 64 bit; needs a new card plus new software. There are is one irksome quirk, which is worked around by using internet access. The program window has NO minimize/size/maximize/close icons in the upper right corner. Also not present with a right click. It settles in the upper left corner of your monitor and CANNOT be dragged someplace else (like your second monitor with extended desktop). SInce you access your system via IE (have not yet tired Firefox), you CAN relocate the display and controls since you simply drag the IE window where you want. We live in a rural area with a lot of ground floor windows. I have always been skeptical of alarm company monitoring services. THIS system allows me to verify for myself what is happening and to call the police; or, since I have a computer based phone answering machine (left very loud so we can hear it thoughout the house) I can call the house and deliver a pretty creepy warning to whover is in the house. Each camera is provided with a 60 foot video and power cable. This works well for my interior cameras, but I will need an extension for my driveway camera. I only installed this last week; but I have tested it pretty hard and it works so far. Turns out I am glad the LW2702 did not work as expected; while it would have captured events the LW2702 cannot send out alerts nor provide the control of this system. The "downside" is that you have to run wires to your computer and you must have a computer that is always on and configured to reboot after a power failure. Plus, you can check the house from ANY computer anywhere in the world either with IE or the provided client software. AS far as I concerned, this beats paying a monitoring service $10 a month. I hope it continues to work. 9 of 9 people found the following review helpful. Lorex QLR464 4 channel DVR card and cameras By D. Block I ordered a desktop specifically to install this card and run the surveillance software. Installation of the PCI card was a snap, and the software loaded smoothly - allowing me immediate viewing and recording ability. Getting everything set to remotely connect to the system is another

It is the First of Kenwood's units that works with the iPhone, you will need the KCA-iP301V($25-$30)cable. I doin't have the Bluetooth adapter yet, so I can't vouch for that, But I do know that you can use the screen to dial your contacts, and then you nave the Navigation hooked up while are looking up a place of business(Restaurant) You can press on the phone number and it will dial the place. I have the iPhone & Kenwood KNA G510 - Navigation system bu Garmin. The Nav. is great!! Well it's a Garmin and they are the best in the Nav. business. I was looking at the Kenwood Excelon DNX8120, It has everything...but..I wanted a good unit that didn't stand out in a parking lot, and a 7in screen in the dash just beggs to be stolen. The screen in the 514 has the new Z-Action(tm) mechanism gives you 12 different viewing angles for optimum visibility. Kenwood's flip out screen units have been very good and reliable. 1 word of CAUTION...KENWOOD ONLY HONORS THERE WARRANTY IF YOU BUY FROM THEIR AUTHORIZED DEALERS..(Crutchfield). This is a lot of money for a unit and adds up if you add all the stuff for it, so a warranty is always a good thing. This thing will do it all I am glad I chose this model. I do my homework and buy the best, You cant beat Kenwood and Garmin both have a very good track record...Enjoy.. Works with Kenwood iPod adapter, Bluetooth adapter, HD Radio tuner, satellite radio tuner, and navigation module. 5 of 6 people found the following review helpful. So much wrong with this unit. By Daniel Walton I have the KVT514, KCA BT200, KST HR200 installed in a Ram 2500. The sound quality is good, however the rest of it is a mess. I wonder if the engineers actually put it in a car and tried it out. Almost all of the buttons on the touch screen are on the right side of the screen, as far away from the driver as possible. The screen is big but the buttons are small. If you play music from a USB stick on "Random" expect to hear the same 20 or 30 songs all of the time and very rarely any others. I would expect it to randomly play all of the songs on the USB before starting over. If a picture is loaded that is associated with a song, the song "skips" until the picture loads. I have never found any of the "hidden" HD radio stations that are advertised. Most of the time it cycles back and forth between HD and regular FM about every minute or so. The way the blue tooth interacts with the phone is dangerous. Looking up a phone number is an involved process. 1st if you do a search and enter a letter ALL of the names with that letter are displayed and you have to search through all of them. Then you have to reach all the way across to the right side to touch the small "display" button, and then hit the small dial button. If you use a programmed number you have to hit the program button (it is big) then hit the small dial button to connect. (Why not make it so you just it the button and it dials?) If the call fails the system locks up and nothing can be done until you turn it off and back on again to reset it. This means pulling over to the side of the road and shutting the engine off as there is no on/off button on the unit. Much more to say, but not enough room. All in all I am very disappointed in the system and really wish I had bought something else. See all 2 customer reviews...

Since they do not make the BB2 anymore, this is what you want if you have the PNP3 as it'll allow you to take the boombox anywhere! Note, the PNP2 and other Sirius receivers will not work with this, only the PNP3. Improvements include a better and lounder volume so that if you're outside you'll hear the program much better! The volume is adjusted by either pushing a down or up button. Also it's not as "thick" as the BB2. Plug in some D Cell batteries and you can go portable with it! It includes an adapter to plug in, and 20 wire and antenna for reception. Note many with Sirius have to put the antenna just outside their window facing the appropriate direction (read directions). And everyone can get reception, it's just a matter of proper antenna placement. You may want to look into getting the 50 foot Sirius antenna extension cable (see above for item information) to connect both antenna wire and boombox. You can connect up to 2 of them making a total of 125 feet of antenna wire. And Sirius lineup, you'll never be able to find something you cannot listen to! And with Sirius you also can listen to Sirius online FREE when you signup! Sirius has 65 commercial free music channels, TWO NPR channels, Talk channels (Patriot, Right, Left, Air America, Talk Central, OutQ) and spanish along with Radio Classics (Lone Ranger, Suspense, Dragnet, etc.) and more! Exclusive include Howard Stern starting January 2006, Maxim Radio talk (Mens Magazine) channel, Eminem Shade 45 channel (uncut hip-hop), over 40 NBA games per week, NHL, Tony Hawks Domolition Radio, Barclays English League Soccer, All Division I Mens Basketball. The trick to finding what's on and when is to look online at the channel lineup for times or listen to Sirius information channel 184 or better yet, stay tuned to the channel you like! Sports, Sirius is the only one that has a 24/7 NFL channel that has each and every NFL game including your hometown broadcast feed! NASCAR will be exclusive to Sirius starting in 2007! I challenge anyone to find this cheaper than Amazon with free shipping and no tax. It won't happen! So there it is, if you want to use the PNP3 in the house, this is what you need! 14 of 14 people found the following review helpful. Great Sirius Accessory By Pretty Kitty I love listening to sirius in my office during the day. The channels I like to listen to are Court TV and CNN, which are not available via the computer. The only down side to the boombox is that there is no carrying handle. There is a place to put one's hand, but it is not conducive to carrying. It is perfect if you are going to put in one place and keep it there. 11 of 11 people found the following review helpful. Sirius Radio Boombox By Wolfgang W. Lau The Audiovox SIR-BB3 Sirius Satellite Radio Boombox is a wonderful alternative to the Audiovox home shuttle docking station. With the boombox, you can take the Sirius Radio Shuttle anywhere you want. You are not locked into your home stereo. It is convenient to take to the beach or on a picnic. It operates on house current (for in home use) or batteries for outside use. The boombox has a very nice sound to it, even though there aren't any bass or treble controls. The speaker seperation is very good. The volume can be controlled from buttons on the boombox or through the shuttle with the remote control. Overall, I really like the boombox and feel it is money well spent if you already have a Sirius shuttle. See all 11 customer reviews...

Monster HTS 1000 MKIII 8-Outlet Power Center with Clean Power Stage 2

Technology Today Advancements in technology have brought faster, higher definition products that are capable of processing large amounts of data but are also quite sensitive to the components that drive them. Too little power and these devices will not function at an optimum level, too much power and these devices can be damaged beyond repair. The Ups and Downs of Power AC Power by nature is ever-changing, appliances turning on and off in your home (as well as your neighbor's home) causes voltage to surge and spike, this is sometimes noticeable in the form of lights dimming. This causes a state of flux for the power running your delicate electronic devices which can have a negative effect on the functionality of those devices. Other conditions such as power outages and lightning strikes only increase this fluctuation. When power returns after an outage it does not roll in gently like a ripple on a lake, it surges and spikes like a wave on an ocean during a hurricane. It is these surges that damage the delicate components in electronic devices making them unusable. Even under normal power operation, surges and spikes can damage electronic devices. Proper connection to an advance surge protector that offers integrated system protection can help minimize the risk of permanent damage.... Protection You Can Rely On Unlike standard surge protectors, the Monster PowerCenter HTS1000 MKII protection provides multiple layers of defense against harmful surges and spikes with patented Tri-Mode and exclusive T2 protection. The Microprocessor controlled T2 circuitry continuously minotors power conditions to not only block out surges and spikes, but also disconnects the PowerCenter and all of the connected devices. After power is disconnected, T2 circuitry continues to monitor power conditions and automatically reconnects the power once a safe condition is reached. Protection is only part of the equation; Monster's Tri-Mode circuitry includes an audible alarm and an LED display that shows the current incoming power line voltage. No more guess work on troubleshooting high or low voltage conditions like spikes or brownouts. Keeping it Clean Fluctuations in power are bad enough for proper electronic devices functionality; add the noise pollution in power lines created by the appliances in your home and outside interference, and protection is only the beginning of the requirement. Electrical power tools, refrigerators, air conditioners, radio transmitters, cell phones- all generate electromagnetic interference and radio frequency noise which pollutes AC power. The pollution in the power line has an adverse effect on the performance of electronic devices, preventing them from performing at at an optimum level. Video will not be as crisp and jittery; audio will sound unclear and accurate to the point of even having noticeable levels of buzzes and noise. Monster's Clean Power circuitry filters out power pollution by utilizing special filters to dramatically reduce electronic noise on your AC power line. You'll see a more vivid picture and hear more natural sound with increased dynamic range and less noise giving back the performance you never knew you lost... Making Life Easier In addition to protecting your valuable electronics, Monster PowerCenter provides convenience for connecting and placement generic surge protectors cannot. The FlatProfile plug allows for furniture to be flush with your walls, and the color-coded labeled outlets let you know just what is connected, no more unplugging the wrong device. All this combines with a generous 8-foot powered cord, ensuring that no wall outlet is out of reach... Peace of Mind With Monster PowerCenter HTS1000 MKII you can rest easy knowing that if something should go wrong, your connected equipment is protected by Monsters Connected Equipment Warranty. That is something you cannot find on a generic power strip...

Smathers To start I got the product on time and the service when called in to order was very courteous, helpful and knowledgable. Soon as I got the product I hooked it to my home theater(Onkyo receiver,Sony LCD TV, Sony DVD,Direct HD-DVR, and XBox 360). Right from the start I noticed a difference in picture and sound quality as well as the unit itself looks cool too. Have had it now for about one month and have had 5 power outages/surges and no harm was done to any of my components. Very happy so far with product and would recomend to anyone looking for a well made product and piece of mind to know that their expensive components are protected by a $300,000 quarantee from Monster if this product fails. Also for the cost of under $150 bucks for the unit to protect thousands of dollars in equipment, not a bad bad investment! I will also order from Amazon again since have had the best pricing on just about everything I have looked for on the internet. 51 of 60 people found the following review helpful. Well built, high quality power protection By C. Kleist I received the Monster HTS 1000 MKIII from Amazon about a week ago, after losing my DVD player, VCR, Tivo, and Wii to a massive power surge. I was immediately surprised by the size and weight of the unit. It is quite large, weighing several pounds and measuring just over 16" long by 5" wide by 3" high when laying flat. It feels quite sturdy, made of what appears to be brushed aluminum and black plastic or thermoplastic. The cord is long (6 to 8 feet) and is of high quality (true rubber, not vinyl or shiny plastic). Upon plugging it in for the first time, you'll notice that it seems to check itself and the power coming into it. There is a brief delay, where it measures the voltage and checks for ground - something I immediately found reassuring. There is a circuit breaker/reset button on one end, a jack for a remote cable on the other end. Monster has included labels for your various cords, so you know what you're unplugging, as well as a coaxial cable, a phone cable, and a remote cable to connect it to a receiver. I haven't yet had the "opportunity" to test the unit as a surge protector - and I hope I never do. I purchased this as a sort of insurance policy that I hope I never use. But should a surge hit, Monster provides a $350,000 warranty covering properly connected equipment. Good enough for me. This unit is one of the more expensive surge protectors out there, but it's less expensive than an insurance deductible, and it's certainly less expensive than replacing your electronics. A good buy by any estimate. 16 of 17 people found the following review helpful. A must for Home Theater Enthusiasts By P. Bongiovanni I've had the HTS1000 for a month or two now. I must say I wasn't expecting a distinctive change in the picture or sound quality but got this more for the surge protection, but I was pleasently surpised when I turn this unit on, and noticed a distinctive difference in the audio and picture quality on my Sony XBR4 46"; especially on non-HD channels. The picture seemed more seemless and smooth compared to not using this unit. I researched this on Amazon and also at a local Circuit City (they were selling it for $199.99 plus tax), but as always Amazon has great service and prices, so I opted to go with Amazon again for around $135.00 total. I saved close to $85.00 on a $200.00 item, when taking into account the tax! You can't beat Amazon for great prices and you can't beat this surge/power conditioner for the money either. Great product, highly recommended! See all 96 customer reviews...

Repak I purchased this in the beginning of January, 2010, as the second camera in my outside video surveillance system so I could see who was at the door before opening it. Uniden characterizes the camera as "Wireless/Weatherproof", yet in the second page of their User Manual, they state: "This equipment is NOT waterproof. DO NOT expose it to rain or moisture." Since Florida has its share of wet weather, I inquired from Uniden if I could use their camera outside under my soffet, and their answering E-Mail stated that it would be fine. After installing it and experiencing several storms in the three months it has been in action, I can report that the camera continues to function perfectly. I am also satisfied with the camera's performance, but I never expected to get anywhere near the claimed range of 500 feet. My monitor is set up only about 25 feet from the front door camera and about 15 feet from the driveway camera. The pictures are very clear, and I can even move the monitor down another 30 feet or so to my bedroom to keep within range of the front door camera, although the driveway camera gives out at about 35 feet. I highly recommend the system, and bought two of them for my daughters to use as nanny cams to watch over their infants. When visiting, each brings her own indoor camera, and I link it to the highly portable monitor (it can take up to 4 cameras), so she can keep watch on her baby in another room. Without having to go through exterior walls, the range in the house is easily 100 feet, through 3 plasterboard internal walls. Since the camera picks up sound, it easily alerts a parent to take a look at the monitor to see if their physical presence is necessary. 10 of 10 people found the following review helpful. survey By Flatsroamer This camera is a fairly good product, excellent in daylight, fair in infared. The only complaint I have is the range. It said it's signal could be picked up 500 feet away but at 250 feet it's sometimes off, sometimes on. This is from a direct line of sight position. The sound is awesome. It picks up the slightest noise. I wish it had a wireless microphone to speaker in the camera, but overall I'm pleased with the product. See all 19 customer reviews...

Japanese Attention to Detail By Bob If you are going to spend big bucks on a large screen TV, why not get a good quality audio system too. Any of them will beat TV speakers. Given the amount of time most people use their TV, would encourage others to get a good audio system if they can afford it. This thing brings a whole new dimension to movies as well as other programming. So far, have the center and front speakers hooked up along with the sub woofer. Like the adjustable active sub woofer volume knob. Have more speaker wire on the way for the long wire runs on my side and rear speakers. Am not using HDMI cables on my standard definition system yet. Next, will begin mounting more speakers with the Sanus mount system. The clear and deep sound quality of this powerful 1200 watt system is great for the money- as many reputable online review sources said. The powered (110 volt) 290 watt subwoofer will make the floor shake, windows rattle and my cat head for cover. One can crank up the volume to the point where the house is vibrating but it still maintains clarity and quality sound. They include cheap little plastic protective pads to keep the sub woofer from marking floors. After watching a James Bond movie with it, believe the 10" sub woofer, that is pointed straight down, was designed so viewers could feel explosions and such for it sure shakes the floorboards. It gives one a sense of being right in the action scenes when you can actually feel the movie. All of the wires are fully color coded making it easy to hook up with no mistakes. It would be hard to be unable to get this system up and running properly if you pay attention to the easy set up guide. Consumer Reports rated the Onkyo 5100 model that this system recently replaced their highest rated choice for a home theater system. It was the only model that they rated "very good" for sound quality. All of the rest only rated "good" per their opinion. This 5200 model is a new release to replace their 5100 system. Wonder just how many systems CR tested total. You can't go too far wrong here for high sound quality at a budget price. One review source said Onkyo consistently beats other brands. My goal was high quality sound and realism at a reasonable price. Will add extras (blu-ray player...) after I have the system set up and properly tuned with their included syncronization mic system that automatically adjusts the system for each unique application, room size, etc. Everything about this HTIB is big including the large, heavy box it comes in. Physics is physics- that's how they get the clear, deep, high quality sound out of the sound chambers. All of the speakers have a real wood grain laminate exterior finish- look good. There are numerous higher priced Onkyo home theater systems and one lower priced model than this one. Oct. 6, '09: Consumer Reports has now put this one- the Onkyo 5200 system in their number one spot with a Yamaha YHT-591 model second at $600 and a cheaper Yamaha YHT-391 ($300) in third place. They have these three systems rated "very good" for sound quality currently. Been enjoying mine about everyday now. Especially using it for XM music from my Direct TV satellite connection. Am now working on getting a good old fashion TV antenna 34' feet into the air with a powered pre amplifer on it for all of my regional broadcast stations. The amplified rabbit ears have to go with what's available free off the airways nowadays. Nov. 13, 2009: Am definitely getting my money worth out of this system. Use it a lot for XM music. Usually last less than five minutes before I switch from TV speakers to the home theater system and turn off the TV- great sound quality. There is no comparison with TV speakers. It is comparable to a high quality stereo system. Dec. 9 2009: Consumer Reports now has the Onkyo 7200 model ($800) in 1st place with the 5200 model in 2nd. They rated the Yamaha YHT-391

Good Entry Level Receiver By Christopher Deweese The Denon AVR 391 does not have a lot of bells and whistles, but if you are looking for a high quality receiver at a reasonable price, you could do a lot worse. This unit has four HDMI ports on the back...and that's about it. It doesn't have any component hookups. It has a few composite connections for audio and video. It also has a few digital audio connections (coaxial and optical). It does not upconvert analog video to 1080p. If you can live without a few of these features you will likely be impressed with what you do get. It decodes pretty much all of the current HD audio codecs. Blu-ray movies look and sound phenomenal through this receiver. I have my PS3 and Xbox360 hooked up to it and my games sound incredible. I even have my Wii's audio passing through this receiver and it sounds good too. I'm not really in to 3D, but this receiver supports HDMI 1.4a, so if you've got a 3D compatible player and TV you're good to go. Generally speaking, it's very simple to hook up and operate. It does not have on screen menus, but configuring the speakers is pretty easy using the units display (it all has to be done manually). The remote isn't great, but it's not bad either. It's fairly intuitive and easy to read. It's not backlit or anything like that. It'll control your iPod via a Denon dock though (which actually does have an on screen menu, but it's not much to look at). If you're just interested in getting the basics (audio and video), then this receiver is a good way to go, especially if all of your components are HDMI. 32 of 34 people found the following review helpful. Simply Amazing By Movie Guy I've had the 391 for a couple of days now and am very impressed. While I did consider the 591 and other models in the current Denon line, I've been on a "simplicty" kick here recently and have been seeking out high quality components that give me the features I really want without the added cost and complications of the features that I do not want. My main pre-purchase concern was that a receiver at this price point, even from Denon, would sound underpowered and thin. This is definitely not the case. Its powering 5 Polk speakers (TSi200 fronts, Tsi100 surrounds, CS10 center along with a HSU sub) with no problem. The sound is strong and clear with room to spare. Having configured other Denon receivers in the past, manual setup was a breeze. The 391 has more than enough HDMI and other inputs to meet my current and future needs. The FM tuner seems to be especially strong. Five years ago, I couldn't have imagined a receiver with these features and of this quality for $250.00. Denon has an entry level winner here; strongly recommended for those seeking excellent 5.1 audio at this price point. Captain Spaulding is online now Report Post Edit/Delete Message 13 of 13 people found the following review helpful. All the features you need, in one AVR. Best entry-level AVR out there. Highly recommended. By Nadeem This is the best Entry level AVR out there in the market and the first one from Denon in 2010 model line-up and I have to say that this beast is packed with all the essential feature, an entry-level AVR must have. Not all of us need a 8.1 channel Surround Sound system, but this 5.1 channel Surround Sound system can be extended to include two addition preouts for Surround Back channels at an amazing price point. This AVR sports four HDMI 1.4a (with 3D support) inputs plus it has built-in decoders for DTS-HD Master and Dolby True HD. Among all the feature, this AVR possess, the most attractive one is the inclusion of fully discrete amps for each of the five channels to produce equal quality sound. This is a huge plus at this price point. Others features like front panel controls for ipod connectivity and Dolby Pro Logic IIx, which provides Music, Cinema and Game modes, all of them make this AVR the best out there

Great Receiver By Sphinx There are three $500 receivers to consider, if you're buying one in 2010 - Onkyo TX-SR608, Pioneer VSX-1020-K and this one. All three feature the latest HDMI 1.4, which is necessary for 3D signals. Here's how they compare: -The Onkyo is the most powerful in terms of real world performance, followed by the Denon and finally the Pioneer. All three perform at par for normal listening volumes, but the Onkyo can handle very high volumes the best, while the Pioneer runs out of breath -The Denon has Audyssey Multi-Eq, which automatically calibrates the receiver for use in your room (a mic is provided). The Onkyo has a similar but less versatile Audyssey 2EQ. Pioneer has its own system called MCACC which also works well, but Audyssey may be slightly better. -All three can upconvert analog sources via HDMI - hence you'll only need one HDMI cable to connect to the TV. The 1.4 spec supports an audio return channel, so the TV's sound can be output to the receiver without extra cables. The Pioneer and Denon use the excellent Anchor Bay chipset, while the Onkyo uses the slightly inferior Faroudja DCDi chipset for video processing. -The Pioneer and the Denon have a front USB input where you can connect your iPod directly. You can browse playlists etc using the receiver's remote via the onscreen display. Since this is a digital connection, the sound quality is excellent - while the iPod can be connected to the Onkyo via an analog cable, it does not sound as good and cannot be navigated using the remote. -The Denon offers an equal variety of inputs as the other two, but has fewer of them - eg, one optical input vs 2 for Pioneer and Onkyo - The Pioneer's iPhone app is just a gimmick and of limited utility - I would prefer using the main remote. Overall, I decided to purchase the Denon since it has Audyssey MultiEQ and adequate power (unlike the Pioneer) as well as excellent video processing and iPod connectivity (unlike the Onkyo). I have been using it for about a week and am very pleased with the level of performance offered. Update on December 3, 2010: The receiver continues to perform well and I have no new complaints. However, I have noticed that both Pioneer VSX-1120-K and Onkyo TX-NR708 are available for ~$500, while discounts on this and other Denon receivers are marginal (here on Amazon). Hence, both those higher spec'd receivers now represent better value than the AVR-791/1911, if you're looking to spend ~$500 on a receiver. Also, the Onkyo TX-SR608 and Pioneer VSX-1020-K are now available for ~$350 and hence have become more compelling alternatives to this receiver. 31 of 32 people found the following review helpful. Fantastic receiver By San Jose Reviewer This works much better than my old Yamaha RX-V661 receiver. The key features I liked were: * Audyssey Dynamic Volume for automatically turning the volume down for commercials and up for quiet scenes so that you don't have to keep your finger on the remote when trying to keep the TV commercial volume below a certain level. This is a key selling point in my opinion! You can configure it to 4 settings depending on how dynamic you want it. Just like the Starbucks style of sizing, instead of small, medium and large, you have Off, Day, Evening and Night in the menu. Day compensates the volume the least, and the Night compensates the volume the most. The Evening setting seems fine to me. * When you first configure it, it configures the sound levels specific to your room configuration for up to 6 listening points with an included microphone. It detects the frequency cross over for your speakers and speaker specific volume levels for optimal listening. It can also detect miswired speakers. * 4 HDMI input ports and 1 HDMI output port. * iPod USB connection. You can use the remote to control the song selection. * Delete unused inputs for easily skipping over unused inputs. * Analog

The 4-channel GM-6400F delivers a whopping 600 watts max (60 watts x 4 or 150 watts x 2 at 4 ohms; 75 watts x 4 at 2 ohms)--plenty of juice to power your high-quality speakers. It's also got built-in 4-channel crossovers. Speaker level inputs for easy connection to an OEM headunit. Oversized power terminals. And a wide input level of 400mV to 6.5V. Pioneer GM Series Amplifiers A Solid Foundation Adding an amplifier to your vehicle redefines your in-car experience, and can completely change the way you listen to your favorite music. The Pioneer GM series amplifiers are designed to add loads of much-needed volume, chest-thumping power, and heightened clarity. Solid Value GM series amplifiers provide exceptional value. Get more watts-per-dollar compared to competing brands, and save money to build other components in your system. Bridgeable Operation These bridgeable amplifiers also allow for more power as your needs grow. By combining the power of multiple channels to drive different system configurations, you can take your system to a whole new level of sound. GM-6400F Features 600-Watt Max Power Anybody have a problem with more power? We didn't think so. The GM-6400F packs an impressive wallop despite its small size, with 760-watt max power capability. It can run 60 watts x 4 at 4 ohms, 150 watts x 2 at 4 ohms, or 75 watts x 4 at 2 ohms--whichever best fits your system configuration. Built-In Crossover (80Hz Low-Pass Filter) Built into the GM-6400F is a very smart crossover network. It works like a gateway, routing the big bass signals (80Hz or lower, at -12dB/octave) to the speaker that handles them best, filtering out higher-frequency signals to that speaker. This optimizes your system's efficiency and delivers the best possible sound quality. Speaker Level Inputs The GM-6400F's speaker level inputs allow you to connect your OEM unit (or any unit that doesn't have the typical RCA-type inputs) without having to buy add-on adapters. The install goes faster, you save money, and you've got a Pioneer amp in your vehicle. Gain Control What is power without control? To accommodate the varying range of signal levels coming from today's factory and aftermarket radios, all of Pioneer's GM-series amplifiers feature adjustable gain controls. This means that no matter what kind of radio is connected to this amplifier, the appropriate gain control adjustment can be made to ensure loud, clear, distortion-free music. And even if the gain control level is set improperly, Pioneer's Gain Control Caution feature will automatically reduce the amplifier's output until the headunit volume is decreased to acceptable levels. This added layer of protection helps to prevent damage from occurring to the amplifier and the speakers connected to it due to improper gain control adjustments. Bass Boost Selectable 50Hz Bass Boost gives you more control over how your music sounds. It lets you set the optimal bass level for each speaker/sub connected to the GM-6400F, so the tone controls from your headunit can do what they do best. And because this is selectable bass boost, you can set the level at 0dB, 6dB, or 12dB, whichever sounds best to you. You cannot knock this performance level and a trusted brand for this price By El Geraldo Like the other guys said - it is big, it is heavy. Big and heavy suggests big heatsink, which you want. I haven't opened it up to see how well built it is inside, but the bottom cover is made of that cheap, thin, plated steel that they make generic PC cases out of. In contrast, my 350W Rockford Fosgate sub amp is all cast aluminum and chrome-plated, thick steel. The Pioneer runs a bit hotter than the Rockford amp and the screw terminals are much cheaper than the enclosed terminals of the Rockford, but you gets what you pay for. I have this amp mounted vertically on stand-offs on the side of my trunk space, with a 120mm PC fan blowing across it. Only gets warm then, even when you start off with the trunk interior at 100°F. I'm playing a 4-year old Pioneer head unit via the RCA jacks into this amp which drives a pair of [...] 6x8 Pioneer 3-way front speakers and some [...] 6x8 Infinity 2-way speakers in the rear. Sounds nice and clear - no noticeable distortion at a fairly high volume level (that I can't stand to listen to for more than a few minutes at a time). With only the head unit (rated at 4x50W, which is supposedly 4x25W RMS) powering the same speakers, I had to use its built-in HPF to take away the bass below 50Hz, else it would be distortion-a-plenty. Now with this amp hooked up, I can feel the front doors vibrating again and no distortion! Do yourself a favor - ignore the fairy-tale power rating on your head unit and use a separate 4-channel amp for your main speakers. It just sounds so much clearer and you can enjoy the full amount of bass that your speakers can produce. You don't have to listen at a very loud volume to hear the difference. This is the first time I've bothered getting an amp for the main speakers in a car (and I've been driving since 1988). I've upgraded head units and added small subs, but this has made the most overall difference in sound quality. Next time I change cars, a 4-channel amp is the first thing I'm going to install. Wish I'd figured this out years ago! 10 of 11 people found the following review helpful. Can't be beat for the price! By E. Rodriguez I installed this amp in my F-150 two weeks ago and wanted to test it out a bit before submitting my review and so far, I couldn't be happier. My mids and highs are extremely clear now and I can actually hear small details in music that I couldn't hear before with just my pioneer head unit powering my speakers. I'm using this amp together with a GM-5400t bridged powering a 10" Kicker CVT and the systems sounds extremely clear even at high volumes with no distortion. Being a relatively cheap amp, I wasn't expecting much out of it but I'm truly impressed by it's output and clarity. I also read that the previous version of this amp the GM-6300f had some overheating issues but I think they have been resolved with this model. I have two amps mounted behind my rear seat with barely any ventilation and neither of them have turned off once. I'm sure that there are better amps out there but in this price range, I can't imagine one being better. 1 of 1 people found the following review helpful. Awesome 4 Channel power By S. Carlson I love this amplifier. I have it powering 4 Kicker 6.5" speakers at 4 ohms and it has been performing admirably. I have it mounted in a fairly spacious trunk, but it appears to give off very little heat even when running for extended periods of time so I'd imagine it would function just as well under a car's seat. That being said, it is quite a large amp...bigger than the pictures would lead you to believe. Controls are simple and well marked, and the high pass filter works extremely well. Highly recommended as a platform for car surround speakers. See all 11 customer reviews...
